Terms of Service

Welcome to The Red Cedar Tailor LLC. By accessing or using our website or booking services, you agree to the following terms.

1. Appointments & Consultations

  • All services are available by appointment only.
  • Bookings can be made through our website using the Square booking system.
  • A fitting consultation is required for all alteration quotes. Quotes are only provided in person.

2. Deposits & Payments

  • For alteration quotes over $200, a 50% deposit of the total quoted amount is required before work begins.
  • All deposits are non-refundable once work has started.
  • Final payment is due upon completion and prior to garment pickup.

3. Cancellations & No-Shows

  • We allow cancellations or rescheduling with as little as 1 hour notice for most appointments. We understand that plans change and aim to be flexible.
  • However, for special occasion fittings—including but not limited to wedding dresses, prom gowns, and other event garments that may require extended fitting times—we require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.
  • Missed appointments without proper notice may result in restricted booking privileges.

4. Garment Liability

  • While we take the utmost care, we are not responsible for pre-existing damage, fabric weaknesses, or manufacturer defects.
  • We reserve the right to decline work on garments deemed unserviceable or at risk of damage.

5. Quality of Work Guarantee

We stand behind the quality of our workmanship. If you are dissatisfied with an alteration we performed, we will re-alter the original seam only, at no additional charge, provided the garment can safely accommodate further adjustment.

  • Rework is limited strictly to the same seam or area originally altered.
  • This guarantee applies even if client measurements have changed, so long as the garment has not been altered or modified by any third party.
  • Garments must be returned clean and unaltered by others to qualify for re-alteration.
  • We reserve the right to decline rework if the garment cannot be safely adjusted further due to fabric limits, prior wear, or construction.
  • No refunds. Liability is limited to the original cost of the alteration service.

6. Alteration Adjustments

  • Follow-up fittings are included, if needed, to ensure proper fit.
  • For special occasion garments—including but not limited to wedding dresses, prom attire, gala gowns, and similar event wear—multiple follow-up fittings may be required and are included in the service.
  • Any changes requested outside the original scope of work may result in additional charges.

7. Website Use

  • You may not use our website for any unlawful or abusive purpose.
  • All content, branding, and photography are the property of The Red Cedar Tailor and may not be copied or redistributed.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of any changes.
